Hello Friends,

Time to get back in the barista special saddle this week. Some of you know that I have had a recent obsession with Earl Grey tea. So this week I will be presenting a drink called Crumpet. A take on a traditional high tea breakfast in England. The drink starts with a lovely English lemon curd mixed with a shot of espresso. Then a steamed lemon cream is incorporated with the espresso. It is all finished off with an Earl Grey whipped cream topped with a little candied lemon zest. I will also be offering a toasted buttered crumpet to eat with the drink. A complete british experience and a great way to start off your day.

Monday I will be offering the Salt Caramel Cappuccino while the supplies last…

WELL UPDATE – We have officially passed the $500 point. I will have some new events to share with you soon to help the cause. If you haven’t read about charity:water yet, do it now at: www.charitywater.org

Shirts are also still available at incognitocoffee.spreadshirt.com.

Incognito Week of 8-30

Author: IncognitoScott | Filed under: Uncategorized

Hello Friends,

This week we bring back an old decadent favorite, and amp it up a notch. Tomorrow I will be offering the salt caramel cappuccino along with mini salt caramel and chocolate cupcakes. Surely the best way I can imagine to start off my week.

Tomorrow I will be serving the new Double Rainbow blend from Ritual Coffee Roasters. It is full of citrus and strawberry notes. I’m really enjoying this coffee right now.

On another note, for those of you who don’t know my Mom is a top 4 finalist in Ghiradelli’s New Intense Dark chocolate bar competition. She needs to get as many votes as possible. Her chocolate bar is called Heavenly Hazelnut. If she receives the most votes, her chocolate bar will be produced and available to purchase! You can vote for her by going to www.newintensedark.com

WELL UPDATE: We are almost to $500 in the charity water fund. Thank you again for all of your ideas and support.

Incognito Week of 8-23

Author: IncognitoScott | Filed under: Uncategorized

Hello Friends,

I will be bringing you some nice experiences this week at the kitchen window. First off, I will be serving Ritual Coffee Roaster’s Lloyd Dobler espresso blend on Monday. It has a wonderful almond and berry flavor. A great shot straight or in milk. On Friday I will bring Ecco Caffe’s Organic Espresso back to the window. Beautiful caramel and chocolate with just the perfect zing of acidity. Also I will be serving Ecco’s Guatemala El Tambor as pour-over on Friday. The El Tambor has wonderful flavors of praline and maple sugar. It will be great for the cold mornings we have been having here in Angwin.

WHOLE BEAN COFFEE – Due to many requests, I will be making whole bean coffee orders from Ecco Caffe. I will take your order any day that I am open, you will need to prepay, and then I will order your coffee the following Sunday. It will be available for pick up the next Friday. You can look on the Ecco Caffe website eccocaffe.com to pick your coffee, or I will make suggestions. :)

WELL UPDATE – We have raised almost $400 already! Thank you for all of your support. I am excited by the progress, and can’t wait to make the initial donation when the campaign starts in October. Read more about the charity at charitywater.org If you were wanting a shirt, you can still get them on incognitocoffee.spreadshirt.com

Incognito Week of 8-16

Author: IncognitoScott | Filed under: Uncategorized

Below is my favorite incognito email ever…

You’ve ruined me. Since I’ve had your coffee, I’m unable to drink my Starbucks. In fact, I’ve been treating it like a stepchild. Here’s the thing: I didn’t know that coffee doesn’t have to be bitter. Now that I’ve seen the light, I can’t drink my nasty, bitter, stepchild coffee. So where can I obtain some delicious coffee that deserves all of my love? For the record, I’m not trying to infringe on Incognito. I’m not going to open Conspicuous Coffee (or something equally as witty) because that would be mean and cruel (though very witty indeed). I just want to drink tasty coffee in the morning. By the way, I do drip. I don’t have a fancy-pants espresso machine. (However, I do have a fancy-pants Kitchen Aid Artisan mixer in limited-edition pink with all of the attachments. Yes, ALL of them!)

Long live Incognito!

Kitchen Window First-timer

Hello Friends,

I am excited to be able to serve you a new coffee from Ecco Caffe this week. It is the El Salvador Finca Malacara. This coffee is grown on the side of the Santa Ana Volcano in El Salvador. The farm has been in the family since 1888. They wait to pick the coffee cherries until they are a dark burgundy in color instead of the bright red of many other farms. This contributes to the sugar content as well as rounding out the middle notes in the coffee. Many of these coffees coming out of El Salvador can be too much of a single high note. This coffee creates a complete experience by tantalizing the palette with it’s crisp grape acidity and then ending off with dark red fruit and caramel.

I am offering this coffee as both a drip coffee and an espresso. This is a great chance to taste what the different methods and roasts produce in the cup from the same coffee. I will also be offering the Revenge of the Mocha on Friday.

WELL UPDATE – I am excited to tell you that we have almost raised $400 in donations! I will kick off the charity:water website in October, and I would love to have a nice chunk already raised. Thank you for all of your support so far. If you have any ideas for events or fundraising please let me know, I am looking to get anyone involved that would like to be outside of just coming to the coffee window.

Barista Specials

Chai Tea Latte – $2.50
Earl Grey Latte – $2.50
Revenge of the Mocha – $3.00 FRIDAY ONLY

Schedule

Monday – 7:45 – 8:45

Wednesday – CLOSED

Friday – 7:45 – 9:00

Cheers,

Scott

Incognito Week of 8-9

Author: IncognitoScott | Filed under: Uncategorized

Hello Friends,

Took a splendid walk with the family today in the back acreage of Pacific Union College. The highlight for me was the sight of the season’s first plump blackberries. It is amazing that something that delicious can just grow wild in the forest. Our grocery stores have subliminally convinced us that deliciousness grows under fluorescent lights. Sunlight somehow makes things taste more rich and real.

This got me thinking about how many people never know that coffee has seasons. Different beans are ripening around the world at different times, bringing us new experiences to explore almost all year round. The Kenya that I am serving this week is a great example of a coffee that is worth waiting for. Just like we anticipate the first tomato crop of the season coffee nerds anticipate Kenyans, washed Ethiopians and the crop of Geishas from Panama. Just a thought for you this week.

I will continue to serve the Kenyan and have the Mocha on Friday. Hope to see you this week.

WELL UPDATE – We have raised $200 for the well, we are 4% of the way there! Anyone wanting to order a shirt that did not get in with the large order can enter the code: FREEWEEKEND in the coupon blank on my order page and get free shipping today. You can find the link to my incognito shirt shop in the blogroll links section titled incognito apparel.

Barista Specials

Earl Grey Latte – $2.50
Chai Tea Latte – $2.50
Revenge of the Mocha – $3.00 FRIDAY ONLY
French press of Kenya Kangocho – $2.00

Schedule

Monday – 7:45 – 8:45

Wednesday – CLOSED

Friday – 7:45 – 8:45

Scott
