Hello Friends,
My trip to Washington DC this last week led me to a little coffee shop called Peregrine Espresso. After a night spent in the Chicago airport on a cot, I had an espresso from Peregrine that tasted like coffee heaven. Was it because I was extremely sleep deprived? I will let you be the judge, I will be serving the espresso that I was served in DC: Apollo espresso from Counter Culture Coffee. Amazing sugar content in this coffee, it leaves the feeling a lollipop leaves in your mouth. It is a great espresso experience.

Hello Friends,
I went through an entire Scharffenberger 10 oz. chocolate bar worth of chocolate sauce on Friday for the mocha I served! Thanks for coming by and making incognito’s third birthday such a great day.
This week I will be serving up Ecco Caffe’s new single origin espresso, Fazenda Santana from Brazil. The tasting notes that I have read say molasses, walnut and dark chocolate. I am excited about the possibility of a very full bodied espresso as this is a coffee from the Mogiana region of Brazil. Coffee’s from Mogiana are renowned for their velvety viscosity. I will be serving all of the classic drinks on Friday.

Hello Friends,
This week will mark 3 years of serving coffee out the kitchen window. Thanks for sharing your mornings with me.
To celebrate I will be serving a Scharffenberger Mocha on Friday. I will be using an incognito classic coffee – Ecco Reserve espresso. To ingredients that I truly fell in love with while coming up with drinks for the morning ritual. Come on by and splurge on Friday. You deserve it.
Also, you may have heard about the earthquake that hit Christchurch, NZ a few weeks back. There is a large coffee community in New Zealand that lost their businesses, homes, loved ones or all three. I hope that we can help them!
Mark Prince, the founder of CoffeeGeek.com has set up a website where you can purchase “virtual coffee drinks” to help Christchurch coffee professionals get back on their feet. For every drink purchased on Friday, I will purchase a virtual espresso at www.christchurchcafe.com to help the victims of the earthquake.

Hello Friends,
I’m having one of those strange California travel moments. This morning I woke up at 8,000 feet with 4 feet of snow on the ground and 18 degrees F in Tahoe. A true winter wonderland. Tonight I’m in a hotel room in LA after I just ate at my favorite Italian restaurant, Mozza. Tomorrow it is supposed to be almost 70 F here and sunny. I do love California.
This week we will continue our espresso journey around this wonderful state. I will be bringing back the latest incarnation of Intelligentsia’s Black Cat espresso for you to sample. I have been assured that it is syrupy sweet with a melted chocolate body. One more espresso experience from the southern end of our state. Looking forward to seeing you all!

Hello Friends,
I have attempted throughout the time of incognito to represent the different roasters in the Bay Area who are importing and roasting the finest coffee in the world. One that I have under represented is Barefoot Coffee Roasters in San Jose. On Wednesday this week I will be serving their Hopscotch espresso. It is a blend of some lovely coffees from El Salvador. Syrupy body and a caramel sweetness, closely followed by stone fruit notes in the finish. Should be another lovely espresso experience in a string of excellent espresso.

Hello Friends,
Happy Valentines to all of you. I will be heading out to the East Coast this week, also known as coffee wasteland in my book. In order to take advantage of one last morning of coffee talk, I will be open tomorrow morning. I have acquired a new coffee from Ritual from Colombia called Guamo. It is one of the sweetest finishes on an espresso I have tasted in a long time. Lovely dark fruit, pomegranate and plum with a candy sweet finish. The light body produces a very juicy taste experience. A great coffee for Valentines.

Hello Friends,
New espresso excitement awaits this week. One of my favorite coffee roasters, Intelligentsia recently released an espresso called Honey Badger. It highlights one of the wonderful coffees to come from Kenya this year, the Kangocho. This coffee has been blended with two different coffees from Brazil to give some balance to the citrus and currant in the Kangocho. It is a very temperamental espresso, and needs to be pulled with all the right specifications.
I will be offering this coffee for a very limited time tomorrow morning! Come by between 7:30 and 7:45 to try it. I will only be serving straight double shots of Honey Badger during this time, no other drinks!
After that I will be offering Ecco Caffe’s Brazil Recreio espresso in all of the traditional Italian drinks. No other special this week. Looking forward to seeing any of you espresso fans come out early tomorrow.
