Hello Friends,

I am excited to be able to serve you a new coffee from Ecco Caffe this week. It is the El Salvador Finca Malacara. This coffee is grown on the side of the Santa Ana Volcano in El Salvador. The farm has been in the family since 1888. They wait to pick the coffee cherries until they are a dark burgundy in color instead of the bright red of many other farms. This contributes to the sugar content as well as rounding out the middle notes in the coffee. Many of these coffees coming out of El Salvador can be too much of a single high note. This coffee creates a complete experience by tantalizing the palette with it’s crisp grape acidity and then ending off with dark red fruit and caramel.

I am offering this coffee as both a drip coffee and an espresso. This is a great chance to taste what the different methods and roasts produce in the cup from the same coffee. I will also be offering the Revenge of the Mocha on Friday.

WELL UPDATE – I am excited to tell you that we have almost raised $400 in donations! I will kick off the charity:water website in October, and I would love to have a nice chunk already raised. Thank you for all of your support so far. If you have any ideas for events or fundraising please let me know, I am looking to get anyone involved that would like to be outside of just coming to the coffee window.
