Hello Friends,

Took a splendid walk with the family today in the back acreage of Pacific Union College. The highlight for me was the sight of the season’s first plump blackberries. It is amazing that something that delicious can just grow wild in the forest. Our grocery stores have subliminally convinced us that deliciousness grows under fluorescent lights. Sunlight somehow makes things taste more rich and real.

This got me thinking about how many people never know that coffee has seasons. Different beans are ripening around the world at different times, bringing us new experiences to explore almost all year round. The Kenya that I am serving this week is a great example of a coffee that is worth waiting for. Just like we anticipate the first tomato crop of the season coffee nerds anticipate Kenyans, washed Ethiopians and the crop of Geishas from Panama. Just a thought for you this week.

I will continue to serve the Kenyan and have the Mocha on Friday. Hope to see you this week.
